27/11/2023 - Just been informed by The EA that Morton Bridge is to receive a stocking of 2000 barbel within the next few weeks, date to be confirmed. These to be small (8gm) fish. Still great news though.

27/11/2023 - Following the Club's AGM, Membership costs have been simplified and amended, effective 1st January 2024, as follows:

​

- Junior Membership (Under 16 at 1st January) - FREE, but must register and carry Club Membership book.

​

- Adult Members (17 to 65) - £50 (No increase again!)

​

- Concessionary Member (Over 65) - £35

​

Also amended is the entitlement to Honorary Membership upon reaching age 65 and having completed at least 10 years continuous membership on reaching that age. This to apply to both existing Club members and new members joining the Club on / after 1st January 2024.

16/11/2023 - Club Annual General Meeting to be held at The Sportsman's in Northallerton, commencing 7.30pm. All members welcome. It's your chance to see how the Club is run and have your say in matters. 

 

17/11/2022 - Club Annual General Meeting to be held tonight, commencing 7.30pm at The Sportsmans, behind the Hight Street, Northallerton. All members welcome.

31/12/2021 - New notice board now installed for the top length below Morton road bridge showing the limit  of this section. This top length (Stephen Wards) now re-opened to anglers from 1st January 2022. 

 

24/12/2021 - Thrintoft car park:

At this time of the year the track down to the car park can be tricky, especially if icy. Take care if using this access point. Also, there is now a padlock on the gate before the car park . Until we get the farmer to change this to a combination lock, temporary parking is allowed on the track inside the field on the right at the bottom of the lane.

24/12/2021 - Downstream of Morton Bridge:

River still closed on the Morton village side due to Avian Flu outbreak at two farms along Potters Lane in Morton on swale. The Bedale side, (car park field) is open. Waters above Morton bridge open as normal.

06/12/2021 - MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL:

Renewals due 1st January. No change to cost (again). Renewal by cash, cheque or bank transfer only. NO PAY PAL OPTION.

New member books and maps this year will be posted as soon as received from the printers.

06/12/2021 - Avian Flu:

The water below Morton road bridge to remain closed due to the quarantine zone in connection with the two poultry farms affected by the Avian Flu outbreak in Morton on Swale until further notice.

​

30/11/2021 - Day Permits:

Day permits are no longer available for non members to fish the club waters. However, Club members can puschase 'Guest Tickets' in order to take a non member fishing with them. Cost £5.00 and must be purchased in advance. from Club Treasurer.

​

16/01/2020 - Rearranged match. The club fishing match planned for Saturday 18th January is being rearranged for next saturday (25th Jan)  due to anticipated high water levels this weekend. Hopefully conditions will be much better next week.

​

24/12/2019 - In addition to cheque or cash payment, we now have another option for renewing your membership for 2020: PayPal. The Club account is northallertonanglingclub@outlook.com.

If choosing to pay via this method, please select the 'FREINDS AND FAMILY' option in payments to avoid unnecessary cost to the Club.

02/12/2019 - No increase in annual subscription costs for 2020.  Renewals due 31st December. Club has places available for new member applications for 2020

23/12/13 - Environment Agency stock fish on club waters...

 

The Environment Agency continued their bid to support the club by stocking 1000 barbel at Morton Bridge and 250 tench and 250 crucian carp in Carthorpe Lakes.
